Aganorsa Leaf: Cigars Driven by Passion and a Fresh Perspective
The fact that Eduardo originally hails from Cuba suggests that cigars are nothing new to him. Yet he initially follows a completely different path: after studying economics in the U.S., he works as an investment banker. Together with his brother, he founds the franchise company Telepizza in Spain, achieving his first major entrepreneurial success.
In 1997, Eduardo relocates to Nicaragua, where he enters the tobacco industry for the first time. He takes over a struggling raw material company and reorganizes it. His goal isn’t solely profit—he wants to cultivate the best tobacco in the world.
A Touch of Cuba in Nicaragua
Fernandez Pujals draws inspiration from the tobacco quality of his homeland and assembles a team of experienced Cubans to achieve it. They bring with them deep-rooted expertise gained through decades of work in cultivation and processing.
In 2002, Eduardo acquires the Tabacalera Tabacos Valle de Jalapa and begins producing his own cigars. One of the leading figures is Arsenio Ramos, born in Pinar del Río—the cradle of Cuban cigar culture. With his expertise in blending and cultivation, Ramos decisively shapes the identity of Aganorsa Leaf. Even during his lifetime, he was regarded as an icon of the industry. Following his death in 2018, his legacy lives on in the Aganorsa Leaf Arsenio – a mild to medium-bodied line dedicated to his life's work.
From Seed to Cigar: Aganorsa Leaf
With dedication and precision, Aganorsa Leaf has earned a global reputation over the past decades. The cigars, crafted entirely in-house, reflect an uncompromising commitment to quality.
