Ascorti: Origins of a Master Brand
In 1959, Guiseppe Ascorti began his career at the renowned pipe workshop Castello. There, he perfected the art of pipe making. His extraordinary talent and passion for the craft eventually led him to establish his own workshop. In 1968, together with his neighbor Luigi Radice, another prominent pipe maker, he founded the brand "Caminetto."
Growth and Transformation
Pipes featuring the distinctive mustache logo quickly gained popularity, especially in the American market. The growing demand required additional support, and Guiseppe Ascorti’s son Roberto joined the workshop. This partnership lasted until 1979, when differing visions led the founders to part ways. In 1980, the Ascorti brand was born. At just 22 years old, Roberto, along with his wife Silvana, took over the leadership, setting new benchmarks in quality and design. To this day, the brand remains synonymous with optimal smoking pleasure.
Craftsmanship and Quality: The Foundation of Ascorti
The production of Ascorti pipes begins with selecting premium briarwood, which is meticulously dried for at least two years. Each pipe is handcrafted with minimal use of machinery. A hallmark of the brand is the unfilled surface that highlights the natural beauty of the wood. The hand-applied rustication process gives the pipes a unique texture and durability. In fact, crafting rusticated pipes requires even more effort than producing smooth ones.
Acrylic: The Innovative Mouthpiece Material
Ascorti was among the first manufacturers to use acrylic for mouthpieces, a material now widely adopted across the industry for its resistance to oxidation. Unlike many competitors, Ascorti does not use prefabricated blanks but creates mouthpieces from high-quality acrylic sheets. The result is an exceptionally thin and lightweight mouthpiece that offers maximum comfort. Even pipe smokers who prefer ebonite are impressed by the quality and functionality of Ascorti's mouthpieces.

Design and Materials of Ascorti Pipes
Smooth Pipes captivate with grain patterns such as straight, flame, or cross-grain, which are among the most coveted and valuable designs. Additionally, Ascorti offers black-stained models with a subtle sheen. The shapes follow classic lines with a bold Italian flair that connoisseurs instantly recognize. Accents made from materials like bamboo, sterling silver, horn, or resin complete the elegant appearance.
Ascorti pipes impress with exceptional smoking properties and, with proper care, become reliable companions for a lifetime. Their quality and aesthetics make them a true treasure for any pipe smoker.
