Bonsai and Pipes by Tobias Höse
"Hösy," as Tobias Höse is affectionately called, is a rising name among German pipe makers. Like many in this craft, he discovered his passion through pipe smoking. His preference for Virginia Flakes and English blends remains unchanged to this day. He drew inspiration from well-known German pipe makers such as Dirk Heinemann or the masters at CO Pipes.
Inspiration Meets Craftsmanship: Bonsai Pipes
In his home workshop, Höse crafts handmade pipes with the utmost precision. He acquired the necessary patience from his long-time hobby of bonsai cultivation. This passion is also reflected in his pipes, which bear the name "Bonsai."
Besides being a pipe maker, Höse is also a family man and (rock) musician. For his creations, he uses high-quality briar from Calabria and occasionally olive wood. Thanks to his own sandblasting cabinet, he gives the surfaces of his pipes, including olive wood, a unique texture. Sandblasted olive wood offers an unparalleled tactile experience.
