Casa de Torres – A Cigar Brand by Schuster
The cigars from Casa de Torres are among the first and still one of the most successful in-house brands of the August Schuster family. Behind this name lies a rich 100-year family tradition that has shaped a significant chapter in German tobacco history.
The Origins in Bünde
The foundation of this tradition was laid by Hermann Schuster, a trained baker who founded a cigar factory in Bünde in 1897. His sons Richard and Georg also worked there. After their passing, Hermann’s son, Dr. Arnold Schuster, took over the business. The daughters of the family were also involved in the tobacco business. However, the pivotal milestone for the company was set by Dr. August Schuster, who in 1909 brought his experience from the family business to his own cigar manufacturing. To this day, Bünde is regarded as a central cigar town in Germany, significantly influenced by the Schuster family. After August Schuster, his son Dr. Hans Schuster took over leadership in 1953 and ran the business for 30 years. Even after his retirement in 1983, the family tradition continued as his sons Manfred and Philipp Schuster carried on the company’s operations.
Premium Cigars from Nicaragua: Casa de Torres
The vision and commitment to quality of the founders are reflected in every cigar to this day. Brands such as Partageno, Lepanto, C. Mendoza, Casa de Torres, Brazil Trüllerie, and the renowned Maria Mancini stand for unmatched cigar quality.

To become more independent of producers, the Schuster family decided in the 1990s to produce a handcrafted long-filler cigar under their own label with renowned manufacturers in Nicaragua. Thus, Casa de Torres was born.
