Cornelius & Anthony Cigars – Stylish Craftsmanship with History
If there were an award for the most innovative cigar brand, Cornelius & Anthony would undoubtedly be among the top contenders. This American label not only combines premium quality with a modern brand identity but also boasts a family tradition in tobacco cultivation spanning over 150 years. The fact that you can find these exclusive cigars only with us in Germany makes us especially proud.
Although the brand has officially existed only since the 1990s, its roots go much further back. As early as the early 19th century, the family began growing tobacco in Virginia. Records show that since the 1860s, the Bailey family has been active in the tobacco business. The first known family member in this field was Cornelius Bailey, after whom the brand was named in his honor.
Premium Longfillers by Cornelius & Anthony
The second namesake is Stephen Anthony Bailey, the current owner. From the start, he focused on high-quality premium cigars made from the company’s own tobacco—a concept that quickly found success in the U.S.
Today, Longfiller cigars from Latin America also play a significant role in Cornelius & Anthony’s portfolio. Initially, production took place at the prestigious Tabacalera PDR, owned by Abe Flores—where renowned brands such as Gurkha, Flores y Rodriguez, Kristoff, and La Palina are also crafted. Today, production takes place at the Tabacalera La Zona, run by Eddie Espinosa in Nicaragua. This is where the exceptional cigar series you can discover with us are created.
The Cornelius & Anthony Cigar Range
The Meridian series impresses with its woody and spicy notes, complemented by a pleasantly creamy spice. Its wrapper comes from Ecuador, while the binder is from Nicaragua. The filler combines select tobaccos from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.
The Daddy Mac series was created by Stephen Bailey as a tribute to his father. It stands out with a gentle sweetness derived from its Brazilian wrapper. The most powerful of the three series is the Venganza. The name means "revenge" in Spanish—fitting for a cigar with such an intense flavor. Featuring a Nicaraguan binder and filler, combined with an Ecuadorian wrapper, this series offers a bold and expressive smoking experience.
