Dapper Cigars: The Passion of an Aficionado
Many boutique brands are born from the personal enthusiasm of their founders – and Dapper is no exception. The man behind the label is American Ian Reith. Originally from California, he worked in the IT department of his home state's health agency.

However, his true passion lay in cigars. In 2013, he took the leap and had his first cigar rolled in Estelí – initially just for his own personal enjoyment, without any commercial intentions.
A Rise with a Unique Touch
His first creation, the now-legendary Cubo Claro, not only impressed him but also his circle of friends. The defining moment for the brand name is said to have come from a neighbor who enthusiastically exclaimed, “That’s a dapper cigar!” – a phrase for something particularly elegant and stylish.
As demand grew, the work soon became too much for Ian to handle alone. He brought in reinforcements, including Alex Cesa. With extensive experience from his time at Drew Estate, Cesa took over distribution and played a key role in expanding the brand. Dapper quickly established itself as a renowned name in premium cigars. Since 2019, the company Bugge from the Black Forest has been bringing these exclusive cigars to Germany.
Dapper Cigars: An Overview of the Collection
The La Madrina Line, meaning "The Godmother," debuted on the US market in 2017. It features an Ecuadorian Sun Grown wrapper sourced from the renowned manufacturer Oliva.

The Siempre Sun Grown represents an unwavering commitment to top quality – its name means “always” and reflects this philosophy. Another popular series, El Borracho, is composed almost entirely of Nicaraguan tobaccos – with the sole exception of the San Andrés wrapper, which comes from Mexico.
