For nearly three decades, the Cigarworld online shop has stood for exceptional selection and expertise in the world of premium cigars. In addition to offering a wide range of international brands, Cigarworld also develops its own lines – including established “house brands” such as La Domaine de Lavalette from the Dominican Republic and Rosa Nicaragua from Nicaragua. These lines offer excellent value for everyday enjoyment – unlike the more nuanced La Chaveta longfillers.
Nicaragua: The Heart of Fine Tobacco Craftsmanship
With the La Chaveta brand – an exclusive private label by Cigarworld – a new chapter begins: premium quality from Nicaragua with a unique identity. The vision of producing a proprietary cigar line in Estelí had long been in the minds of the Cigarworld team. It became a reality thanks to the collaboration with a trusted industry partner.
Ralf Westerwick, a long-time associate from North Rhine-Westphalia, runs the Tabacalera Casa de Alegría in Estelí. His announcement of expanded production capacities came at the perfect time – Cigarworld wasn’t looking for a large-scale industrial producer, but rather a partner with true dedication. The decision was made quickly, and implementation followed with the same care and commitment.
La Chaveta: Character and Quality in Every Detail
The La Chaveta line features a slightly firmer roll – ideal for controlled draw and even ash development. A distinctive feature is the double pigtail at both ends of the cigar – a unique design with strong visual appeal. Despite their premium craftsmanship, these cigars are priced well below the €10 mark, making them a compelling option for aficionados who value both quality and affordability.
The Meaning Behind the Name “Chaveta”
The word “La Chaveta” comes from the world of cigar making. It refers to the iconic rounded blade used to cut the wrapper leaf with precision – a tool that symbolizes craftsmanship and tradition. As a brand name, it represents authenticity and artisanal excellence.

The brand’s debut is the La Chaveta White series. This blend offers a mild yet complex aroma, thanks to its filler composed of selected Nicaraguan tobaccos from the Estelí, Jalapa, and Condega regions – a prime example of expert blending from Central America.
